During this too short visit to the zoo, after a gap of about 4 years, the silver back posed nicely for a few photos, until he was briefly distracted by a visiting female, who could not keep his attention. He then wandered off. The orangutans, like most of the animals, were lazing in the shade. The tree kangaroo is a new addition, as are two new lions that replaced the two old ones that passed on since our last visit. Only the new lioness was out on their new deck One of the polar bears hung out on the rocks, half in the water, while her mates swam in their pool. It was a lazy hot spring afternoon, with a lot of yawning. Next time we will get there earlier for a longer visit.
