Our 2012 trip to Africa took us first to Durban, South Africa for an international wildlife conference. We were there for most of a week, but we did take time for two tourist trips, one to Shakaland, a former TV set now re-purposed and named for the historical Zulu King Shaka. The second was to Giant's Castle World Heritage Site. From Durban we flew to Victoria Falls on the the Zimbabwe side for two nights, including a river "safari" on the Zambezi River, which forms the falls. Next we traveled by tourist bus for two nights in Botswana at the Mowana Safari Lodge, where we had the extreme pleasure of two land safaris (one in the first evening and one the early the following morning) into Chobe National Park, plus another during our last evening on the Zambezi River, before our long return to NM. As time allows, some photos will get added descriptions. The goods that returned to NM with us is showing on the last photo of the Durban set.
